The tubers of Maca are traditionally used in Peru as a stimulus to the libido and helps with fertility. In men, Maca compounds stimulate the production of sperm by acting directly on the testicules, rather than maturation of sperm. In addition, Maca is naturally rich in arginin, an amino acid precursor of nitric oxide, a potent vasodilator involved in the particular phenomenon of erection.
